Post # 9097 Major Canteen Renovation

VFW Post # 9097 members, Men's and Ladies Auxiliary members, and social members have been busy with a major remodeling project at the Post Canteen. 

In the photo (above) J.D. Sowards is busy taking up the old tile in the Canteen as the demolition work continues.

Butch Christy (above) is involved with the demolition and moving the old bar equipment prior to tearing out the old shelving.

Above, the initial construction of the new horseshoe bar in the canteen.

Once the painting was complete, re-installation of existing lighting was next.  Richard Sigman, President of the Men's Auxiliary, works to install new fixtures.

Post Commander Bill Lambert does the touch-up work prior to completion of the new bar.

Danny Watson, Jim Totten, Bill Smith, Brad Holley and Roger Coffey assemble the new bar stools and tables.

The above photo shows that although there is still minor touch-ups needed, after 15 days, the canteen was open for business.

A grand re-opening celebration is now being planned for a later date.
