VFW Post # 9097 Takes Part in Hurricane July 4th Celebration

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  - July 5, 2008

Post members and Ladies and Men's Auxiliary members took part in the July 4th celebration at Hurricane.  It was an overcast day but members of VFW #9097 Honor Guard presented colors to the delight of parade onlookers.

Also participating in the parade, the Post 9097 float brightened up the day.

Post Poppy Queen Natalie Watson rode the back of the float with other post members and tossed out candy to children along the parade route.  (photo above)

In addition, the Honor Guard was asked to return to the festivities at 9:30pm on the 4th to present colors prior to beginning the fireworks display at Valley Park.
