VFW Post # 9097  Plans Labor Day Celebration For Veterans

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  - August 22, 2008

Post #9097 plans an exciting celebration for Labor Day.  The event is open to all Veterans and will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at the Post on Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV.

One of the featured events at this year's celebration is the Second Annual Cruzin Cooler Races. In the photo below, last year's winner, Post Quartermaster Ed Jividen is shown at the finish line.  Almost 100 people turned out for last year's first-ever race.  This year's hotly contested event is expected to be even more exciting with up to 4 contestants on four Cruzin Coolers.  A Cruzin Cooler can travel at speeds up to 13 miles per hour and promises up to 15 miles of travel on a full charge of their electric motors.

In addition to the races, their will be other fun and games for Veterans and their families including Corn Hole games, horseshoe pitching, a dunking machine.

The day also features a pig roast and carry-in meal.  As always, members and Ladies Auxiliary members - all great cooks - have enough to feed an army.
